Farmers RECC Achieves Fifth Governor's Safety and Health Award

In August 2016, Farmers RECC surpassed 250,000 man hours worked with no lost time accidents, making Farmers RECC eligible for their fifth Governor’s Safety and Health Award.

In the electric utility industry, safety is the top priority, especially considering the hazardous nature of the work involved in providing reliable electricity to members. Farmers RECC linemen maintain thousands of miles of electric lines and equipment and regularly work around high voltage electric lines. In addition, trips, slips and falls can be just as hazardous to workers’ health.

Flag-Waving Crowd Welcome Veterans Home from Honor Flight

Lee Bratcher along with 66 other Kentucky veterans received a heroes’ welcome home Saturday from patriotic, flag-waving citizens who filled the entire terminal at Lexington’s Blue Grass Airport.

The veterans participated in a one-day tour of war memorials in the nation’s capital. This was the seventh Honor Flight sponsored by Farmers RECC and Kentucky’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives. The mission was coordinated by Winchester-based Honor Flight Kentucky.

Several of the veterans, who served during World War II, Korea and Vietnam, said it was the best day of their lives.

Farmers RECC 2017 Annual Meeting Announced

The Annual Meeting of Farmers Rural Electric Cooperative will be Thursday evening, July 13, 2017 at the Convention Center located at Cave City, Kentucky. Registration will begin at 6:00 p.m., CDST.

The cooperative’s Annual Membership Meeting will be held for the purpose of presenting reports on the previous year, announcing the results of the election of directors, and the transacting of such business as may properly come before the meeting.

An informative program has been planned for this occasion. You are cordially invited to attend.

Farmers RECC Members Benefit from Cooperative Ownership

Members who receive service from Farmers RECC are member-owners of the Cooperative. What makes an individual or business receiving service from Farmers RECC a ‘member-owner’ instead of a ‘customer?’ The answer is simple.

When you signed up to receive electric service from Farmers RECC, you became a member-owner of a non-profit cooperative.  A cooperative is owned by those it serves.  Unlike for-profit businesses, a cooperative’s primary focus is on providing a needed service for its member-owners and not on generating a profit for shareholders.
