June 30, 2023 - 9AM Update

The weather on Thursday evening wasn’t kind to our crews, who are still working to restore power to approximately 160 members on Friday morning. However, we are very close to complete restoration, barring any unforeseen circumstances or additional severe weather.

We are keeping a close eye on storms chances for this afternoon and through the weekend. The National Weather Service Louisville office is warning that rounds of strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible across the region this weekend. Torrential rainfall, severe hail, and damaging winds are likely to be the main severe weather hazards. However, isolated tornadoes cannot be ruled out.  Stay weather aware!

If additional outages happen, we will continue to work as we always do; by evaluating our system, identifying causes of outages and restoring them methodically and safely.

We can’t say ‘Thank You’ enough to all those who have helped our efforts to restore service to our members.

  • Wiregrass Electric Cooperative from Hartford, Alabama
  • Sand Mountain Electric Cooperative from Rainsville, Alabama
  • Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation from Clarksville, Tennessee
  • Pennyrile Electric from Hopkinsville, Kentucky
  • Tri-County Electric Membership Corporation from Scottsville, Kentucky
  • Great Southwestern Construction
  • Townsend Tree Service
  • TreeKO
  • Clark Distributing of Oakland, Kentucky

Plus, so many caterers and folks that prepared food for our employees that we don’t want to name them all for fear of missing someone. A huge ‘Thank You’ to Food Lion of Glasgow who dropped off a huge donation of sandwiches and snacks for our employees yesterday.

We continue to ask all members to avoid any contact with power lines. Always assume that any line is live. If additional outages occur today, please report outages via our Mobile App, Member Center or by calling 270-651-2191. For current outage information, check the Farmers RECC’s Outage Viewer at www.farmersrecc.com and follow us on social media for updates.

We also want to thank our members for their patience, understanding, support and prayers.
