June 27, 2023 - 7PM Update

Farmers RECC crews are making progress and have restored service to more than 11,500 meters since Sunday night. At this point, crews have identified over 30 broken poles with hundreds of spans of wire down.

We understand that service interruptions are frustrating and inconvenient for our members. Please be assured that our crews won’t stop working until all of our members have been restored.

We are encouraging members who have electricity-dependent medical or other equipment to make alternate plans. We have also received questions from members upset they haven't seen anyone on their road working. The way the power grid is constructed, it is possible for us to be working several miles away on a problem that will actually get your power restored. We have crews working in all areas of our service territory.

Members have messaged us, worried we have forgotten them. We promise this is not the case. We have a plan, and we are working that plan. All hands are on deck, and we will be here around the clock till all members are restored.

To be clear, Farmers RECC is NOT sending crews to assist any other utility in power restoration. Our first priority is restoring service to our members first before providing mutual aid to any other utility. Additional crews from Wiregrass Electric Cooperative, Sand Mountain Electric Cooperative, Cumberland Electric Cooperative and Pennyrile Electric have arrived to aid Farmers RECC in power restoration.

We continue to ask all members to avoid any contact with power lines. If you are using a generator, be sure to set up and run your generator outside the home away from your garage, doors, windows and vents.

In order to allow our employees to focus solely on restoration efforts, our lobbies will remain closed on Wednesday, June 28. The drive-thru at our Glasgow office will remain open.

All of the employees at Farmers RECC have been and will continue to be committed to restoring power in the quickest and safest way possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we repair and restore our system.

Please check on your pets, neighbors and the elderly in your communities.

Please report outages via our Mobile App, through our Member Center or by calling 270-651-2191. For current outage information, check the Farmers RECC’s Outage Viewer at www.farmersrecc.com and follow us on social media for updates.

This will be our final outage update today. We will update everyone again tomorrow morning by 9AM.
