Four deserving high school juniors from the Farmers RECC service area may be awarded expense-paid trips to Washington D.C., in June 2025 s participants in the 2025 Rural Electric Washington Youth Tour Program sponsored jointly by Farmers RECC and the Kentucky Association of Electric Cooperatives.
Tour winners will spend a week touring Washington D.C., landmarks, plus a visit with Kentucky's congressional delegation.
A total of four Washington Youth Tours may be awarded as follows:
- Two awards from Director District I - Comprised of Barren and Edmonson counties
- One award from Director District II - Comprised of Hart, Grayson and LaRue counties.
- One award from Director District III - Comprised of Metcalfe, Green and Adair counties.
In addition, winner will receive an expense-paid, one-day trip to Frankfort. While in Frankfort, they will tour various state government offices and meet with many Kentucky elected officials.
To be eligible, you must be a high school junior in good standing and your parent or guardian must be a member of and receive electric service at their principal place of residence from Farmers RECC. In addition, each youth tour participant must complete an application form, receive a favorable report from his or her guidance counselor, be involved in school and community activities and agree to abide by the terms and conditions as specified by Farmers Rural Electric Cooperative.
