Crews made good progress overnight, driving total outage numbers down to 2,600.  We know our members without power are frustrated, we are too. But we will not stop until we have everyone on. 

Crews continue to face broken poles, many downed lines and trees and other adverse restoration conditions. As of this morning, crews have discovered 16 broken poles across our system.  

Farmers RECC crews are receiving assistance today from 30 mutual aid crew members from Bluegrass Energy, Inter-County Energy, 5-star Electric, Groves Electric Services, and our contracted ROW crews as restoration efforts continue.  

Today, our power supplier, East Kentucky Power Cooperative, will be changing out a transformer in the Knob Lick substation, serving Metcalfe County. Additional restoration work will continue in that area after those repairs take place. 

We anticipate power restoration efforts to continue through today and into tomorrow. Our northern and eastern portions of our service territory were heavily impacted by the weather, requiring crews to inspect many miles of line for damage. As we have shared before, power restoration is a very labor-intensive process.

Members may also begin to see daily usage readings today despite being without power. Our metering system estimated daily usage based on historical data when a meter does not communicate. Once power is restored and communication is re-established, the meter will reset to reflect actual usage.
