9:30PM Outage Update

Farmers RECC currently has approximately 5,200 members without power. All available crews and contracting personnel have been assigned and are working to restore power as safely and quickly as possible.

With the magnitude of this outage event for our service area, we do not expect complete restoration until Friday. Members who have electricity-dependent medical devices or other equipment may want to make alternate plans.

Crews are working at full strength to make repairs and restore power to all our members as quickly and safely as possible. Farmers RECC asks members to be patient as crews work to restore service.

Farmers RECC will also be receiving mutual aid crews from sister cooperatives across the state to assist with power restoration efforts.

Crews are facing broken poles, many downed lines and trees, and other adverse restoration conditions. Our power supplier, East Kentucky Power Cooperative, also lost a transformer in our Knob Lick substation, serving members in Metcalfe County. Due to this, members in the Center and Sulphur Well circuits will remain without power throughout the night.

Farmers RECC reminds its members to stay away from fallen power lines. Always assume that any line is conducting electricity.

Please report outages to us on our Mobile App, through our Member Center or by calling 270-651-2191. For current outage information, check the Farmers RECC’s Outage Viewer at www.farmersrecc.com and follow us on social media for updates.

Our next update will be at 8 AM tomorrow morning.
