Vote! It's time to cast your ballot for the Farmers RECC's Board of Directors

As a not-for-profit electric cooperative, one of the principles that guides Farmers RECC is Democratic Member Participation. That means we are governed by a board of directors elected by the Co-op's members - including you!

Farmers RECC has seven directors, representing three director districts. These directors serve three-year terms and attend monthly meetings. Among their responsibilities:

  • Developing policies
  • Approving the annual budget and system improvements
  • Hiring the President and Chief Executive Officer and evaluating performance.

Directors represent the interest of all members when making decisions. Because they are elected by fellow co-op members, these decision-makers respond to local issues, such as economic development, with hometown values.

Make your voice heard

Every co-op member has the privilege of electing your representative on the Board of Directors. You can influence decision-making by voting for candidates who support your ideas.

In accordance with our By-laws, Farmers RECC holds board elections in conjunction with our annual meeting. A committee of co-op members is established to nominate the candidates appearing on the ballot. Members in good standing who have not been nominated may also file a candidacy by petition. This year, candidates for a board position in co-op district III are on the ballot. You can learn more about these candidates on your mailed ballot.

All co-op members have the opportunity to cast their votes in the 2026 board election. Ballots will be mailed to all co-op members, and election results will be announced during the business session of the Annual Meeting on July 9th.

Democratic member participation is one of the greatest advantages of a cooperative. So, whether you're a co-op newcomer or a longtime member, I encourage you to let your voice be heard by participating in the Board election. Don't miss this important opportunity to help put the right people in the boardroom - stewards who will bring local knowledge and reason to decisions that affect every Farmers RECC member.
